Just install the package, then open ssh. That should be all that is needed.
It would take me far too long to study how to do that :-) Still, it seems unlikely for you to have stumbled over a sfw2 conversion issue so late.
That's on a default install, unless you remove the firewall. Oh, no, the default is firewalld. I don't know how to install SuSEfirewall2 today.
