I just couldn't stand the panel and the lack of menu configurability any longer (or all the little icons, either). Anyway, I have found that I really like gmc as a file manager, and I also use a number of other gnome apps as well, so gnome is still on my system. I was wondering-- is there a way to fire up gmc, and not have the icons for the cdrom and floppy show up on my desktop? Any help appreciated, Dennis "Custard pies are a sort of esperanto: a universal language." --Noel Godin
