Dear All, I am an extreme newbie about networking, however, I think I may be getting somewhere. The major problem I have left at this time is that I cannot use the internet at the same time on my 2 networked computers. I have Suse8 pro on my Linux desktop and it is my server using Samba and Shorewall. I access the internet through a cable modem. My laptop is connected through the second nic on my desktop with a crossover cable and I am using Windows 2000 on my laptop. I have Linux (Suse8)on the laptop , also, and wanted to originally use it but could not get my ethernet recognized for some reason. I can see and open my Linux files on my Windows 2000 and using LinNeighborhood I can see and open my Windows 2000 files on my Linux Desktop. I am thrilled about that. I used Swat and Samba through Webmin to set this up. Now, I am attempting to do internet sharing using Shorewall. I have succeeded somewhat because I can now use the internet on my laptop when I start the Shorewall firewall, but then I cannot use the internet on my desktop. When I stop the firewall then I no longer can use the internet on the laptop but I can use it on my Desktop. Of course, I want to be able to use the internet on both at the same time when shorewall is running. I know this is a simple configuration problem with shorewall and I have been studying and experimenting but still no luck. Could anyone help me with this problem? Any help and/or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Marcia
