I'm trying to install the Tor browser on Leap 42.1
I went to https://software.opensuse.org/package/torbrowser-launcher and that suggests https://software.opensuse.org/ymp/devel:languages:python/openSUSE_Leap_42.1/ torbrowser-launcher.ymp?base=openSUSE%3ALeap%3A42.1&query=torbrowser-launche r as the best place to get the software.
I installed that and when I click on the menu entry for Tor Browser, I get a small dialog titled Tor Browser that says it is installing the browser and then says (GRR! why is it yet another dialog that won't let you copy text!) SIGNATURE VERIFICATION FAILED! It says the same thing if I download again, so I suspect the problem is not a dodgy download. There are no hints as to where to look for more diagnostics.
Anybody know how to get it working?
Cheers, Dave Why don't you install the tor browser bundle from tor.org? If you want to run tor on a regular basis with the opensuse browser you just launch tor in systemd and tell the browser to use the proxy 9050 (AFAIR) and

You can also put ftp with these values (it will not work but it will avoid that you download unadvertedly sth with ftp while wanting to stay anonimous. This is with your regular FF browser. If you do not trust opensuse you would expect to be used the original bundle as they advice. If you want to be really "safe" at 99% you download the hardened bundle from tor and you install it for the user in /bin. You can then create a shortcurt for it and you will have even faster updates and a somewhat higher security (one chain member less). Check gpg signature from tor before using it to asure the download is O.K. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
