Creating a new user and his access rights is a piece of cake on most platfo= rms.=0ABut the problem I am facing is much harder and wonder if someone has= solved a similar situation. Actually a couple of years ago Anders Johansso= n, whose name sounds familiar to many of you, created an account on my Linu= x laptop, located in TN -USA, from Sweden where he used to live. Since he i= s an expert he instructed me what to do remotely. After his account was rea= dy on my laptop he could access some system files and make the proper adjus= tments on my system.=0ANow I have a DSP package that runs on Mac perfectly = but for Linux there is only a beta version so far which is very unstable. I= would like to give a collaborator in Finland, who uses Linux, access to my= Mac so that he can run the DSP code where it really works.=0ADoes anone ha= ve any idea how this remote connection can be implemented ?=0ASomeone has s= uggested Timbuktu Pro Remote Control Software.=A0 =0Ahttp://www.netopia.com= / software/products/tb2/I browsed through the web site above mentioned and = could not figure out where it has to be installed: on my Mac or on my colla= borator's Linux system or on both systems ...?=0AEstablishing=A0 a remote c= onnection betwen two Linux systems, with Anders Johannson, was not a huge d= eal. But parhaps it becomes so because the two operating systems, although = closely related, are actually different ... ?=0A=0AThank you so much.=0AMau=
Apple remote desktop supports (is) VNC I believe it also supports the tight VNC protocol so it's idea for remote access over the Internet. Optionally you may want to tunnel this over SSH, this can be done quite easily on the MAC. Remember to set a VNC password on the mac, this can be done in System Preferences > Sharing > Remote Management > Computer Settings.
