I am using bash and vi. But the problem does not occur in vi, it is only in the shell. Ideas? If you're using vi, try hitting ESC, x Of course, you probably want to change it if that's what's set, and I'm not sure how you do that (set -o emacs perhaps? I think that's what ksh would use).
