[opensuse] KDE 4.1beta2 and icon transparency issue

I am having an issue with icons in KDE 4.1beta2, and I was hoping someone could help me out. When I first installed opensuse 11, the icons all had nicely transparent backgrounds...just the image and text. Now, though, they all have an obnoxious grey square around them. Someone in the opensuse.org forums recommended changing my theme to restore that, but it doesn't seem to have helped. It just darkens or lightens the background, depending on the theme. Does anyone know how I can get the icons back to being transparent? Thanks!
