Personally I have had far less trouble with AGP Graphics Boards in Linux than in Windows9x: Diamond Viper 330: Windows stopped working after a few months (?got itself horribly confused with pnp?) Linux: flawless after I upgraded to XFree3.3.3.x Prolink Intel i740: Could not install on W95 at all; Ok for a while then became unstable on W98: Flawless on Linux (with the i740 server) Apollo nVidia Vanta TNT2: Flawless on both -- including Linux, where the documentation does not seem to have caught up yet (svga server on XFree 3.3.5 ) Col Wilson wrote:
I would like to go buy a new AGP board because my Win98(not linux) falls over due to a unspecified problem which I suspect this might cure.
I'm trying to work out if a ATI expert@work AGP will work with linux if I do.
Can anyone help? or even advise?
