You can create a PPD file online at: http://www.linuxprinting.org/show_driver.cgi?driver=hpijs using the instructions at http://www.linuxprinting.org/ppd-doc.html If your printer isn't listed, try a similar printer and, if necessary edit the PPD (text) file by hand. Copy to /usr/share/cups/models, restart cups, draw a circle of salt round yourself and hope for the best. JDL wolfi wrote:

Hi, and back there is my problem .... I compiled hpijs and it doesn't give me any *.ppd files which I could copy to /usr/share/cups/models in order to use them with cups ???!?? Right now I'll try the next thing, updating cups to 1.1.12 (SuSE 7.3 ships with 1.1.10) - maybe cups has a way to adress a v series office jet there ....
