I'm relatively new to Linux, and use SuSE. I have never been able to get sound to work, and I heard of a program called OSS. I tried it out, but when I played Quake, the sound would become choppy. I knew I could re-compile my kernel, but I didn't have any information about my sound card. OSS ended up being a giant help, as I got all my IRQ's, Hardware addresses, and DMA's from it. I recompiled my kernel and my sound works great. But there is a catch, my mouse doesn't work. I have run yast and set it up and I have run SaX and tried to set it up there too. It just doesn't want to work. I use a serial mouse, and seeing as I didn't touch anything else in the menuconfig program, I don't know how it could have gotten messed up. Your help is greatly appreciated.
