[opensuse] brand new install 11.4+updates: firefox hangs frequently.

I've got a brand new 11.4+updates install on a Lenovo Thinkpad that previously ran openSUSE 11.2. In the new installation, Firefox will frequently hang up the entire system for minutes at a time. All I need to do is go visit e.g. http://www.20min.ch/ and the machine will hang up. The mouse is locked, the clock stops, Ctrl-Alt-Backspace is ignored, Ctrl-Alt-F1 ditto.
