Now you have got my curiousity. The article quotes a Google rep saying "Today, search quality has advanced tremendously, and based on our analysis we’ve found that in most cases you're better off looking for this kind of specialized information using the regular Google search box"
Since I have not used the /linux one, I have nothing to compare. Can you (Dave) please tell us why you disagree with what the Google rep said?
When first implemented I tried it several times. It only worked if search results needed to actually include the word "linux". Other matters like packaging, kernels, Xorg, framebuffer, EDID and KDE just wouldn't show up in search results. -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive."
