[SuSE Linux] susefax and hylafax ??

i have installed both packages,however i cannot send faxes. the hylafax server is running,and susefax is configured. I have made the modifications in the SuSE.readme. i have no modem activity when i try to send a fax. Is there some test feature that`ll allow me to get this working,without sending duff faxes to recipients ??. My modem is hayes accura 56k external,has fax capability. any help please...?? -- Myfish.
