Strange problem with Inspiron 8100 and SuSE 8.0

I have a very strange problem, not a major one, just an irritation. Have a Dell Inspiron 8100 dual boot with SuSE 8.0 and Win2k and am using a IBM USB keyboard. If I start up in the monings, the Dell startup screen showing the boot process hangs until I hit a key one the keyboard, either the IBM or the built-in keyboard. It will then go into Lilo. If I reboot without shutting down the machine, this does not occur. Has anyone else experience this problem? Art
