I am desperately trying to figure out why SuSE 10.3 cannot see either the USB memory stick nor the CD drive. As root I have read the last 100 lines of the /var/log/messages file when I plug my memory stick into the USB drive. I'm copying it in the end of this messge Appearantly it is detected but I cannot access it from my desktop. No icon is generated nor entry in SuSE "Computer" panel. Please, can someone help me with that ? Thank you so much, Maura Nov 1 18:27:54 linux-Mimin su: (to root) mauede on /dev/pts/0 Nov 1 18:29:28 linux-Mimin kernel: usb 3-3: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 4 Nov 1 18:29:28 linux-Mimin kernel: usb 3-3: new device found, idVendor=0781, idProduct=5151 Nov 1 18:29:28 linux-Mimin kernel: usb 3-3: new device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=3 Nov 1 18:29:28 linux-Mimin kernel: usb 3-3: Product: Cruzer Micro Nov 1 18:29:28 linux-Mimin kernel: usb 3-3: Manufacturer: SanDisk Corporation Nov 1 18:29:28 linux-Mimin kernel: usb 3-3: SerialNumber: 200445284313a1505eb1 Nov 1 18:29:28 linux-Mimin kernel: usb 3-3: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice Nov 1 18:29:28 linux-Mimin kernel: Uniform Multi-Platform E-IDE driver Revision: 7.00alpha2 Nov 1 18:29:28 linux-Mimin kernel: ide: Assuming 33MHz system bus speed for PIO modes; override with idebus=xx Nov 1 18:29:28 linux-Mimin kernel: Initializing USB Mass Storage driver...
