I've never seen this before or don't remember ever seeing it, when I've done a 'w' command, so I'm just curious where the system is getting this Fri 11th thing.
The login-at presentation is age-sensitive (as is, say, the idle-time presentation). E.g., on one of my machines, it's now showing "25Jun08" on some logins, "07:50" for another I did just for the sake of this example. Similar age-sensitive formatting is used for dates in "ls."
