What is the default location for suse selection files, like: default.sel, Kernel-Devel.sel, Network.sel, etc. According to locate all *sel files are located in: /var/adm/YaST/InstSrcManager/IS_CACHE_0x00000001/DATA/descr However, some of the *sel files are located in: /var/adm/YaST/SelDB/Basis-Sound.sel /var/adm/YaST/SelDB/default.sel /var/adm/YaST/SelDB/Gnome.sel /var/adm/YaST/SelDB/Kde-Desktop.sel /var/adm/YaST/SelDB/MINIMAL.sel /var/adm/YaST/SelDB/Office.sel /var/adm/YaST/SelDB/SuSE-Documentation.sel /var/adm/YaST/SelDB/X11.sel My questions: Can I rely on the fact that all suse provided *sel files are _always_ located in /var/adm/YaST/InstSrcManager/IS_CACHE_0x00000001/DATA/descr, or may that change due to user settings in yast (think of change soource of destination). What are the *sel files doing in /var/adm/YaST/SelDB/, is their use preferred over the ones in /var/adm/YaST/InstSrcManager/IS_CACHE_0x00000001/DATA/descr? Why are there 2 locations holding exactly the same files? For what is worth it, the files are not owned by any rpm. I assume they are copied to these location during the installation process. -- Richard Bos Without a home the journey is endless
