I have just installed an additional HD with the Reiser file system as /dev/hdb with one partition /dev/hdb1. I did this while logged on as root.
Do you mean to tell us it was pre-formatted as a Reiser file system?
Then I logged on as a user and attempted to access /dev/hdb1 mounted as /data3. I got the following message:
Could not mount device. The reported error was: mount: I could not determine the filesystem type and none was specified
Then the /data3 directory was displayed in Krusader.
My fstab entry is:
/dev/hdb1 /data3 auto auto,user,exec 0 0
Obviously, I've missed something.
Did you *format* the partition, /dev/hdb1 ??
Yes
Tell us more. What, exactly, did you do? What "mkfs" invocation did you use. Details, people. We need Details!!
