Hi, I finally got ppp going by using ezppp. Not a bad program. Thanks for all your help. Much appreciated. If you ever need someone to fix a auto production line let me know! (There are some things that I can fix on my own!) Denis zentara wrote:

I'm also an ezppp user, but I've been finding that I occasionally lose write and/or execute permissions after using ezppp's "configuration" utility to change modem init strings and the like.
The files whose w/x permissions are affected are pppd and resolv.conf, rendering ezppp useless until permissions are restored.
Anybody have a similar problem? It's a small annoyance, but nonetheless . . .
Hi, I think what happens is everytime you run YAST, it checks all the file permissions and changes them back to the secure setting. There is a way of telling Suseconfig what files not to change, by editing your /etc/permissions files.
Hey, a bit of good news for all you EZPPP users, is that the author is working on a new version which will work from the command line also. Right now EZPPP is limited to X. It's on the authors web page.
