I'm expecting my 9.0 Pro package to arrive any day (depending on the good graces of Amazon.com). I've been doing upgrades since, oh gosh, I think before 6.0, and I do have some strange things happening on my system. I'd like to do a fresh install, but I'm a bit afraid of losing some important programs, config files, etc. I've got custom stuff under /etc and quite a few programs I've compiled and installed over the years. One of my big concerns is with system fonts, TeX fonts and lots of extra other TeX files scattered about its directory tree, and some other misc. things. I assume a fresh install wipes everything out. Is there a good plan of attack for doing this without losing valuable things? BTW, now I've decided that I'm going to be much more careful about documenting what I add to the system. -- Jim Sabatke Hire Me!! - See my resume at http://my.execpc.com/~jsabatke Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for you are crunchy and good with ketchup.
