I have two machines installed with SuSE 8.1 that are quite happy to boot up and run KDE just fine, but if I log out of KDE and let it reset the Xserver I get: Display :0 is being disabled (restarting too fast) And from that point on, nothing but a reboot will get the Xserver back up. I have to point out that the same hardware works with TurboLinux 7 but I wanted to convert to SuSE cuz Turbo appears to becomming non-available. I checked that agpgart is in the kernel config, even tried a Mantel kernel, and same results. One machine has i810 the other i815, but both are supported (supposidly). I can see that the i810 and agpgart modules are loaded yet /var/log/xdm.errors Shows the following (Claiming that the gart is getting an invalid argument. XFree86 Version 4.2.0 / X Window System ... Build Operating System: SuSE Linux [ELF] SuSE Module Loader present ... (EE) GARTInit: AGPIOC_INFO failed (Invalid argument) (EE) I810(0): AGP GART support is not available. Make sure your kernel has agpgart support or that the agpgart kernel module is loaded. (EE) Screen(s) found, but none have a usable configuration. ----------------------------- So how do I fix that.????????????
