noted three SATA controllers/chipsets presently supported by the 2.4.xx kernel and all should be well supported under the 2.6.x kernel. Those listed were:
3ware Escalade 8500 card--3w-xxxx driver Silicon Image chipset Intel ICH5 -- 2.4.22 kernel
As evident in the ongoing discussions there still seem to be some question marks over the kernel support for ICH5. But maybe that .22 is the answer. Do SUSE have a stable .22 that can be used instead of the .21 that is shipped with SUSE 9.0? Cheers, Dave
