I have HDMI out working fine (1080p) with radeon on an ATI Mobility HD3450. Googling seems to indicate a ATI X1250 should work ok as well.
I Googled around a little but didn't really find much one way or the other... lots of info and people telling others to just use the proprietary driver etc (which I cannot with such an old card). The thing for me was simply... does HDMI work in general with the Radeon driver - last I tried it, several years ago, it failed in interesting ways. Since you're able to confirm that it's working on at least a 3450 with the Radeon driver... it's worth taking a chance with the OS upgrade. Thanks for the info.
