Does anyone know of a Linux video player that will play .wmv format??
Use MPlayer -> http://www.mplayerhq.hu/ - Read the docs for more info.

Thanks, I followed your advice and installed mplayer from mplayerhq.hu. Stuck a dvd in my dvd burner, gave it a command line instruction and ...it played! So the hard work is done! But when i tried to install with gui enabled, configure halts with the error no GTK found. I have installed gtk-devel, gtk2-devel, gtkmm-devel and a couple of other related apps, apparently i missed something. Can someone please give me a pointer on just what mplayer needs from gtk in order to install a gui? The configure log file just stops at "checking for gtk..." tia Dimitris
