I said in part one that I had removed KDE and qt-1.45. I had gone into YaST and selected 'D' on all of the KDE and KDE apps. YaST indicated it was removing the packages and didn't complaign at any time during the process. Later I was trying to recompile QCad-1.44 and I got a msg relating to a Qt-1.45 library. Looking at the dirs I noticed many KDE1 files still out there. As root I opened KPackage and tried to delete them. I get a 'can't delete - qt-2.2.2 whatever depends on it' msg. I find eight instances of kde1 stuff (like qtext, xgfe, dyde, tuxeyes (!!) ) being 'required' by Qt-2.2.2 stuff. So, THIS TIME I am going to blow away all KDE and QT stuff and just install the KDE2 rpms from SuSE. (Which will leave me at qt-2.1.1. - oh well) JLK
That will also leave you without all the KDE1 apps that are not (yet) distributed with KDE2..plus a few other irritations, possible funnies with kdm, for example. ..your choice.. Cliff
