Regarless of that, although somewhat misleading, the command showed 15? instances of a 98.6% full / directory. That is the weird part. Wish there were an answer to that, but not really important now
I thought I did explain it. For every argument given to the "df" command, it finds the file system that holds that file or directory (assuming the name actually refers to a file or directory) and shows the utilization for that volume, listing its mount-point directory name (completely omitting the argument, which is where the confusion arises). It's a dubious choice, but df has been that way for as long as I can remember. Since many of the entries in / are not mount points, "df /*" produces many repeated occurrences of the output for the root file system.
