Hello;
I'm new to SuSE (V9.0) having come over from ten years on OS/2. I recently upgraded my KDE to 3.2.3 and while nearly everything worked out I do have a problem. With the upgrade Konqueror no longer opens downloaded RPMs into the install RPMs window ( lacking a better description) where I could install the new file via YAST2.
New behavior has the file opened in Kpackage but Kpackage simply hangs and I must kill it to clear it off my desktop. How can I return Konqueror to its previous behavior?
Thanks for any help.
Tim
You're wierd Tim, you know that??? ;-) Everyone was howling mad about Kong launching the install RPM window rather than offering to save. It was unsafe, annoying, and way to much like' a certain other insecure OS you may have heard of. Everyone was asking in these lists how to suppress this behaviour, so you could get rpms and just store them on disk. It was almost impossible when the site hid the rpm behind a php script like Packman. Everyone was recommending use of Mozilla for downloads. So they made it not the default, and then along comes Tim... Ok, nuf of the ribbing... If you really want to do that you can select open with Kpackage, and there is a LONG hang, - looks like its never comeing back, but in my tests, it does, you just have to wait it out till it downloads the whole thing. -- _____________________________________ John Andersen
