It's a hardware thing, but as I began the thread, here the latest confusing info: - the mini PC was replaced with a new one of same brand/type, still beeps (different) when switching on (https://www.daniel-bauer.com/div/bip2.mp4 from second 3) it's an American Megatrends Bios - I replaced the single bar 32GB memory with 2 new bars of 16GB - no change :-( - I installed cpu-x, but that doesn't give more information about the motherboard, it's original name seems to have been replaced by "Alurin" Up to now the system works with no errors, but I didn't do a lot. First installed by error OS 15.3, then 15.5 from scratch, both installs without problems. A bit internet, installing apache etc. Tomorrow I'll try to put it a bit on stress rendering a video and see what happens. So what remains are those beeps at switching on that don't seem normal to me. I don't think it is the memory because as well the 32GB bar as the two 16GB bars are new, of different brands, and I can't imagine that they have the same error. I am not sure if I should just live with it and think, ok I have a PC that likes to beep at startup. Or if I should give it back and buy another brand. Or if there are some meaningful tests that tell me if there is an error or not. Well, that's it.... -- Daniel Bauer photographer Basel Málaga https://www.patreon.com/danielbauer https://www.daniel-bauer.com
