No......it's that for the sake of compatibility it loads a BUNCH of libs into RAM, which is a BIG mistake!!!!!! This is supposed to be fixed with version 5, which is all new code.

Thanks for the note regarding SO and the new release. I would like to see a SO suite which would not load so many things at start. I think that SO5 sounds like an advance which might prove interesting. I do wish that they would cut back on the windows95 physcial ui stuff though; but I guess I can understand the desire to go in that direction.
The ui is marketing, and nothing more.....it's needed. Another thing I've alerted SO about is a driver conflict. If you're using the OSS audio drivers (VERY good!) you need to start up SO BEFORE you start the OSS module/driver. If you don't, SO will error on connecting to your ISP. Fred -- Fred A.
