a while back I was playing with 2.4 kernels and upgraded

modutils package? how?
I think that you can find the entire 7.0 distribution on the SuSE website. I believe that modutils is in either series "a" or series "aaa_base". Or you can find it in full-names.
i've got the cds, but how to go about removing the 2.4 package, if i do "rpm -e modutils" i get error message stating that dependencies will be broken, will they be okay if i use --force? and then re-install the old rpm?
I'm no expert on this, but I'd guess that "rpm -Uhv modutils-rpm --force" would work (where modutils-rpm is replaced by the actual file location). Paul
