I got an Aluratek AWC2KF. It says on the box that it supports Linux 2.6 so I figured it would work but tumbleweed does not see it when I plug into USB. The KDE System Information detects it when I plug it in and remove it but the USB icon does not activate and applications cannot detect it. There is an Ubuntu driver available that can be modified for other distros according to the documents.
The guts seem to be Sunplus Innovation Technology (as reported by KDE System Information).
Does anyone know if some camera in the list (for DigiKam or others) will work this camera?
Thanks.
Are you aware of *alien*, an app that will (hopefully) turn .deb files into .rpm files? Perhaps this may solve your problem.
That thing is dangerous.
Yeah it once completely bricked my PC, i've had more luck using ark to open .deb's and copying all the files into somewhere under /opt, this probably wouldn't work with drivers neither would alien as normally drivers need to be built against the right kernel. -- Simon Lees (Simotek) http://simotek.net Emergency Update Team keybase.io/simotek SUSE Linux Adelaide Australia, UTC+10:30 GPG Fingerprint: 5B87 DB9D 88DC F606 E489 CEC5 0922 C246 02F0 014B
