No suggestions but I have the same problem; SUSE 9.0 Pro, KDE 3.2, Gnome just put back to 2.2.x from James' ULB-Gnome. The login session portion of KDE Control Center, System Admin, Login Manager is gone after KDE 3.1.95 via apt. I've checked the same files and don't see anything wrong. My backup kdmrc files don't look too different so I'll try one of those.
Let us know if you find something.

Just to add that I'm experiencing the same problem. Haven't been able to see Gnome-session in kdm since my upgrade to 3.1.95. I'm now using 3.2. I can see a host of other sessions including blackbox and IceWM, but no Gnome.
Really odd.
Surely someone has found a way around this.
Anyone?
su to root and run ln -s /opt/gnome/bin/gnome-session /usr/X11R6/bin/gnome then restart kdm. I think that's all I had to do
