I downloaded the entire directory tree below ftp://ftp.oregonstate.edu/pub/suse/suse/i386/9.0 -- about 3GB of data. Like I said, it looks like everything is there. What you don't see here is that I did successfully download a suse/setup directory. I imagine there's a straight-forward way to verify the integrity of the downloaded data. I see the keys there. I didn't see anything about that in any of the readme files, the archives, or the faqs. Any help in that regard or getting the install going is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jim On Sun, 2003-11-30 at 03:21, Henne Vogelsang wrote:

I've downloaded Suse 9.0 and saved it to a second harddrive
I've burned the CD and I boot from it. I choose "Manual Install" at the appropriate menu, specify "From Harddrive", identify the partition and specify the path ("Suse9.0/9.0").
Everything seems to go relatively smoothly except that no software packages are found. At the installation summary, I get the following error message:
Cannot read package data from installation media. Media error? * ERROR: No proposal
I do the Ctrl-Alt-F5 (or similar) and poke around. I find the directory tree under /mounts/extra/Suse9.0/9.0. Everything seems to be there.
What did you download and how does the directory tree below Suse9.0/9.0/ look? Sounds like you do not have the instalation source files. Like
content directory.yast suse/setup media.*
