Yes, but that was not the problem. The problem is the unconnected machine. I have a CD reader on that one and thats it. No net.
Besides I still feel like it would be nice to have a backup in case I make a scratch on the DVD.
As for how much there is on the DVD. All of the 6 CDs. That equals to about 4.6 GB.

-=-=-=-=- Hi TJo I don't have the SuSE DVD and I don't know how it's organized but I'll give it a try. I'll send you with personal mail the INDEX.gz (50k) which contains the continents of the 6 CD's so you'll need to copy the data from the DVD to the hard drive according to the INDEX create the iso images and burn them to the CD's. To make the first CD bootable you'll give to mkisofs the option -b 'path/with/the/contenets/of/CD1/disks/bootdisk' (bootdisk is of course the boot disk from which you'll boot ;-) Not 100% sure that it will work. The biggest problem will be to convince YaST that there are 6 CD's not one. If during the install YaST doesn't see the other CD's boot the system with the minimum install (the packages installed from CD1) and then try to install the rest of system. Good luck Nicholas ps. If that doesn't work you can always try your athletic skills in throwing disks ;-) -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
