Hi! Trying to kill the keyboard, hattons@CPKWEBSER5.ncr.disa.mil produced:
It would appear that you are using an HTML enabled mail client. For folks without html clients this may come across as garbage. I hope it doesn't present them with too much consternation. I say they need to get with the 21st century. :-) If people do gripe a lot, well I guess I'll get rid of it.
With the same argument, you are accepting bloated, incompatible M$ word files, Office97 and so on! Or are you? While I do not care about what 2 consenting adults/computers/email programs do to each other, I DO prefer good old ASCII. Yes, my mail program does cooperate with browsers to show me the crap on request, but using HTML as a default (especially when no info is in there that could not be conveyed by ASCII) is as useful as driving a 10-ton truck all the time, no matter if you are moving or just sightseeing. That's a pretty inconvenient way to do things, a Window'ish way, if you ask me! Oh, remember people can only judge you by your mails & Co, and if they come across as garbage ... -Wolfgang, triggered by HTML mails to lists. -- PGP 2 welcome: Mail me, subject "send PGP-key". If you've nothing at all to hide, you must be boring. Unsolicited Bulk E-Mails: *You* pay for ads you never wanted. Is our economy _so_ weak we have to tolerate SPAMMERS? I guess not. - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e
