I have an adptec 2940uw host adpter. my problem comes when i'm trying to compile for module support. The scsi adapter is compiled hard into the kernel as i run scsi disks. if i try to compile the kernel for module support but not set anything up as modules and then compile the kernel. the compile works fine. do the standard make modules and install modules. reboot the machine, just after it reset's the scsi bus it would get something looking for a second scsi host but none is present. at this point it stops rebooting with a message about swapper not present. as soon as i take the modules out and rebuild and reboot no problems. I don't use modules at all but i'm trying to set up sound with the OSS driver and it needs the module thing compiled in the kernel. Any ideas on this one. -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
