Mate of mine says it's all wrong. Google confuses me still further. Is there anything wrong with my wiring?
At work, this was the way whoever installed the cables wired them. I had long ago found a color chart on the internet that was the same as Matt's link, http://yoda.uvi.edu/InfoTech/rj45.htm (great link :-) ). Anyway, all new cables I added were wired as per the specs in the link. When I was able to up all the NICs on the network to 10/100 Mbs to run at 100, some machines quit working. After some troubleshooting (they all worked at 10 Mbs), I found all that failed were the old wiring. I decided to change the wiring to match the spec (just changed the plugs), and they all worked as expected. So, experience tells me your wiring will work at 10 Mbs but not 100.
