I got X.org 7.1 from the packages at: http://software.opensuse.org/download/xorg7/SUSE_Linux_10.1/i586/ I downloaded all but the devel packages, put them into my Smart channel and am now trying to install them. All I did was to select xorg-x11 for upgrading, and it threw up a whole lot of resultant changes. There are a lot of xorg-x11-lib* modules as dependencies, which is fine, and it says it's going to update xorg-x11 and xorg-x11-libs which is also ok. But it also says it needs to *downgrade* kaffeine to 0.7.1 from the packman 0.8.1 I installed. And it needs to remove: NX OpenOffice OpenOffice-quickstarter OpenOffice-kde kpowersave tightvnc xterm Now I don't care about NX, kpowersave, tightvnc and xterm but I do need OpenOffice. And the build service does not seem to contain any OpenOffice folder where updated OpenOffice packages can be found. Any suggestions on what I can do? -- Tux #395953 resides at http://samvit.org playing with KDE 3.53 on SUSE Linux 10.1 $ date [] CCE +2006-06-28 W26-3 UTC+0530
