What do you get from output of 'xdpyinfo | grep resolution'?
96x96 dpi
What DPI is reported on http://fm.no-ip.com/Auth/dpi-screen-window.html in a Gecko browser?
96
I don't know if it makes a difference or not... but this system has two video controllers - one is an Intel HD 4000, and the other is an nVidia NVS 5400M.
It could be a component of the problem.
Honestly I'm not really sure which does what, other than they seem to 'just work' and they give *very* good performance (by my standards, anyways) under Win 7 Pro.
Is your Win7 configured to 120 DPI in display settings, or 96?
No problems yet under other distros (Mint, Scientific, etc.).
But they don't have YaST2. Please save http://fm.no-ip.com/Share/xorg.conf-1600x0900x120 as /etc/X11/xorg.conf, restart X, run that same list of commands, then report back your overall results impression, a URL to your current /var/log/Xorg.0.log.old, a URL to your /var/log/Xorg.0.log generated upon starting X using the xorg.conf file, and a new screenshot URL that includes YaST2 Software Management. It's probably time to file a bug after this, but I may want to try to run XFCE here to see if I can reproduce first, which would probably best be done via a fresh 12.2 with XFCE installation. -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive."
