Quite true and good form Ben. I really like my box now as well. Couple plenty of RAM with the A7V/AMD combo AND a nice atapi DVD drive, and the single DVD cd install is a so nice I could cry. I have OpenBSD, IRIX and other workstations, but this one blows them away in this regard. /Dee -----Original Message----- From: Ben Rosenberg [mailto:brosenb@suse.com] Sent: Friday, January 12, 2001 7:18 AM To: suse-linux-e@suse.com Subject: [SLE] Why Linux kicks butt (OT, but I can do that ;) Just an FYI to everyone...I upgraded my personal K6-III 400 to a AMD Duron on an ASUS A7V and it went so smooth I almost pinched myself. Linux doesn't bitch at all. This is why Linux rocks and why I went to work for this company. No driver installs and reboots.. :) FYI ... anyone going for an upgrade should check out the Duron on the ASUS board damn it's nice and fast...and w/ the 512M of RAM in this box now..all I can say is "It's good to be the king " (History of the World Pt1 quote). ;) Regards, -- Ben Rosenberg mailto:brosenb@suse.com *************************************** SuSE Inc. 580 Second St Suite 210 Oakland CA 94607 U.S.A Tel: 1-510-628-3380 EXT:5086 Fax: 1-510-628-3381 *************************************** "My opinions are not a reflection of the opinions of SuSE Inc."
