In the past I have found installation issues during Linux installfests. One issue is that the installation from DVD hangs, but installation from CD on the same system succeeds. (Note that I currently do not have hardware at home that can do DVD installation from the layered DVD, so I do hard disk installation after I make a copy of 9.2 on my laptop at work. Another issue is things like ACPI. That can also affect installation on an older system.
