I am thinking about getting a WD Mybook but their site says it only works with Windoze and MAC. I use opensuse 11 RC1 now but when 11.0 comes out i will use that. So, does anyone know if there is Linux software just like the WD MyBook (win) software that will allow me to backup my data on opensuse 11? --
Mine works fine on Opensuse 10.3. In fact, I've re-partitioned it to Reiserfs, and use it for automated backups. I can leave it plugged in all the time, but when my script dismounts the disk it will shut down the drive after a little while leaving only the electronics running. As soon as the backup script fires up and mounts the drive again it spools up. There is a few of windows specific pieces of software for backup and sharing and (in some models) sharing over the web, but I've never used those. Its been absolutely trouble free. -- ----------JSA--------- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
