I reported a few days ago a problem I had with KDE1.1+SuSE6.0+Xfstt0.9: whenever I open Kmail or Kfm or I run through the Kmenu and its sub-menus, it takes a long time to display what it has to display. I asked people on this mai lto do some test. Right now just another italian did the test and reported a similar problem as mine. I hope is not an i18n problem! :-) The setup: KDE 1.1 SuSE 6.0 (kernel 2.0.36 and 2.2.2) Xfstt 0.9.10 more than 200 true type fonts What happened: Kmail: If in Kmail there are more than 1 letter in the inbox folder it takes up to more 1 minute to open Kmail. If there are no messages in the inbox folder it takes a shorter time to open but then as soon as you open a folder with any mail in it it takes a loooong time to open such a folder. I thought it was a Kmail bug but the Stefan Taferner, the author of Kmail, told me: " I have xfstt running without problems. Seems that you have another problem here..." KFM: It takes up to 1 min to display a directory's content in datailed mode. No problem when you use the "icon view". KMenu: It takes a few second to display the content of submenus whenever you run through it. These didn't happen with KDE1.0, XFree3.3.2, xfstt09.10 and more than 200 ttf. And with KDE1.1, XFree3.3.3 BUT with just 8 tt fonts. The question is: is this a bug of: KDE [ ] XFREE3.3.3 [ ] .....[ ] Just for your information. But I like to have it working with more than a dozen of ttfonts, otherwise GIMP is useless for me! Maurizio Ah, the other user is G.
