Is there any support in Linuxverse for Win32? I know many may ask 'why I should care?' Well, I just think it would be cool to show this to my MS-Borg boss, and say "look, Linux can do that too!"
No support for win32's, although the Wine (Windows Emulator) is working on it, and there is a version of it on the Suse cdrom. It works with alot of programs, but is still quite buggy; and cannot be relied on. BUT THEY'RE WORKING ON IT!!! :-) WABI is a windows 3.1 emulator that SUN developed to run on UNIX systems. It only runs in 256 colors, dosn't support sound, and is no longer being supported or developed by SUN. It runs really well under linux. The price has recently just dropped to 49 US dollars!!!!. It used to be 150. Everyone had high hopes that SUN would continue with it, and get WABI to run win32's ; but they figure there really isn't a demand for it. Most linux users quickly switch to pure linux apps, or they dual boot to win95 or NT. zentara -- To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e
