Main advice here is to make sure your BIOS is setup correctly with assign IRQ to VGA set to enable and PnP OS set to no. Ctrl-Alt-F10 if you get any problems, this will give you better information than the logs. To fix booting, you can re-run lilo, or check with yast to make sure its all set the way you want it (you probably knew this anyway :-)). Matthew On Mon, 29 Jan 2001 Cleary_Mike@emc.com wrote:
Well, first of all, after getting 6.4 reinstalled, I find that it won't boot. I get to the LILO prompt, and I get nothing. Not an L, not an LI, etc., just a cursor. I use the SuSE boot disk, and tell it to boot the installed system & it works fine. I think I can fix this, but I cannot get X configured. I have tried the generic X servers, and tried picking a number of other cards to no avail. What can I use to get this card up and running? I have Xfree 4.02 and the SuSE NVIDIA drivers (rpms) burned on a CD - and I thought about loading them up & seeing what happens... Any other advice?
