I'm an experienced Linux user, but I just can't find the "SuSE-approved" way to configure my Ethernet card to listen for multiple IP addresses. Can anyone tell me how, or provide a pointer to the documentation (paper or online) ? I hate to throw in random ifconfigs into rc.local.
I'm running SuSE 7.1 Professional on Intel.
Yast -> System Administration -> Network Configuration -> Network Base Configuration Select first available interface and press F5. Select "<Enter other device>". Press enter. Enter your interface name (e.g. eth0:1). Press enter. Press F6. Enter IP address, mask and gateway address. Press enter. Press F4 to activate the interface. Press F10 to save. Exit yast and reboot or stop and start network. # rcnetwork stop # rcnetwork start # rcroute start Hope this works for you. Cheers, -- Nadeem Hasan nhasan@nadmm.com http://www.nadmm.com/
