Hi,
I have an old Ibm ps/1 printer (24 dot matrix) that I have tried to get to work several times without success. Now I see it listed in Word Perfect 8 and was wondering if anyone has managed to get one to work?
If I get this to work, I can finally use my Windows CD as a Christmas Tree decoration.

A quick grep through the ghostscript sources does not show an entry for a 24-pin ibm printer (only their 9-pin ibmpro and Jetprinter ink-jet printer) -- it is highly likely though that your printer emulates an Epson 24-pin command set and you might be able to configure apsfilter for either "epson" or "epsonc" for color. (I am assuming that Word Perfect 8 uses the printer configuration set up for the rest of your system -- if it has its own program for outputting printer command language (which I doubt, but the fact that it is listed seems to suggest that it might) you would be able to set up apsfilter to just send the output straight through and have WP print correctly, if nothing else.) Do you have a programming manual for the printer, or any documentation on what printer command languages it can emulate? - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e Check out the SuSE-FAQ at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/"><A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A">http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A</A>> and the archiv at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html"><A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A">http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A</A>>
