Will do. Thanks!
The alternative would be to edit the $INITRD_MODULES variable in /etc/rc.config to include the reiser modules, and then run mk_initrd to build the new ramdisk.

Yes, I'm using ReiserFS, but I've done this on my desktop and it worked just fine and I'm using ReiserFS on it.
I didn't know there were any patches needed. I just downloaded the lx_suse source from SuSE and configured the kernel...I remember selecting ReiserFS on a kernel module.
Kernel panic!VFS:Unable to mount root fs on 03:07
Are you saying root is ReiserFS and Reiser is a module? If so you've got a simple problem. It can't load the module because it needs to know how to read Reiser to read the module to load the module-) Build it into the kernel.
