I enabled AGP4x and FW in the BIOS, booted up, modified os-registry.c to enable FW, and restarted the X server, just to watch my box go into hard lock.
I had to reboot, and it hard locked again (black screen, non-responsive keyboard) when it tries to start the X server.
I disabled 4x AGP and FW in the bios, booted up, and it's working again *whew*.
Thus ends my exploration of "high performance 3D on Linux" *LOL*

see if you can set AGP 4x in the Bios, like I have: Rates: 4x 2x 1x [4x]
I don't think that will make much difference though, especially with 'gears'.
Also it looks like Fast Write is not enabled in your bios either (it should be next to the AGP setting).
Given that mine says supported it recognises that the Bios setting is ok, it's just that I have to find the control panel equivalent on the Card to activate it. I'll check the Sax2 settings for it.
Unless of course, anyone else here knows more about it?

I should try to configure it... I just installed the drivers.

I never got FW to work, even on Windows. But I managed to get 4X going with no problems, but only on Linux.... Matt
