My mouse (one of those nice silver MS explorer optical jobbies) is broken ... no I mean really. It doesn't work under Linux or Windows anymore.
Naturally enough, as would any self-respecting computer phreak, I have a more than sufficient supply of ordinary rodents and fitted one (an ordinary Microsoft PS/2 wheelly mouse) which works fine in Windows but not in Linux.
I've edited my /etc/X11/XF86Config file with no joy but still no mouse ... currently the relevant section says:
